Don Fritz with Fritz Precision shooting
I am a lifetime shooter. My father was a Marine and taught me the values of respect. Respect your elders, respect women, respect your Momma, respect your country, and respect guns. As a child I wasn’t allowed to have any sort of gun, including anything that resembled a gun. “There’s no such thing as a toy gun” he said. I could not play with or have toy guns, including rubber band guns, squirt guns, and definitely not a BB gun.
I got my first rifle when I was 12 and I still have it. A bolt action single shot 22 long rifle. I was a natural. Shooting accurately and practicing becoming better and shoot farther became the only thing I wanted to do. I was obsessed. I spent countless days shooting hundreds of shots at paper targets, cans, and maybe a bird or two (come on…I was 12, very little self-control). This passion evolved into pistols, pellet guns, bows, paintball guns, and even the occasional potato cannon. If I could fling something through the air, I loved it!
I followed in my father’s footsteps and joined the military and spent seven years in the Air Force. Once I returned to civilian life, I shied away from guns for a short bit and Archery became a priority. That segued into pistols and right back into rifles. I couldn’t stay away. I decided to build a long-range 300 win mag on a Remington 700 action and start shooting long-range. The goal wasn’t to just shoot long range, I wanted to do whatever it took to shoot beyond 1000 yards and make it a chip shot. I did it. Modern advancements in bullets, barrels, triggers, chassis and ballistics data changed my world.
I decided to master shooting smaller targets at long ranges and began to understand what the environmental impact of wind, barometric pressure, angles, and different bullets had on the consistency of my impacts. Then I started to geek out on the math. Ballistic applications and Applied Ballistics changed my world. Now I understood why these environmental impacts affected bullet flight. My passion continued and I began showing friends…then friends of friends how easy it can be to shoot 1000 yards, then 1200 yards, well hell… why not a mile.
My passion coupled with my ability to train people in this amazing craft became a goal. I have been blessed with the ability, facility, and capability to provide a truly world-class long-range shooting experience.
Feel The Difference
We Use Only The Best Equipment
The industry is flooded with many great equipment options. We use some of the industry's best to provide the best possible shooting experience. The rifles are built upon Impact Precision Actions, armed with Timney Calvin Elite Triggers for nearly infinite adjustability. The Barrels are Osprey Barrel Works made by Patriot Valley Arms. These components are set inside of an MDT ACC Chassis that gives us a ton of accessory attachment options and adjustable ergonomics. Optics used are Nightforce and Vortex Razor scopes and spotting scopes. We shoot using suppressors by Thunder Beast Arms Corp. Suppressors enhance the shooting and training experience by relieving the need for hearing protection while reducing recoil and muzzle blast. Support equipment such as "The Recon" tripods by Two Vets Tripods provide exceptional support. Shooter backpacks are from Eberlestock and will contain Vortex Razor range finders, support bags, shooting mats, and brass bags by Armageddon Gear and Cole-Tac. The HIT rifle has definitely been a hit with everyone who has gotten behind one.
